Charles A. Manilla, DDS, MS
Dr. Manilla is dedicated to making beautiful smiles. As an orthodontist, he achieves perfectly aligned teeth for his patients. But he has a talent that also creates smiles: He is a magician and his patients love his simple magic tricks. So when we say “there’s magic in your smile,” in this office we mean it.
As an orthodontist, Dr. Manilla offers a rare dual background. He is a Specialist in Orthodontics as well as a Specialist in Pediatric Dentistry.
A native of Huntington, West Virginia, Dr. Manilla received his bachelor of arts degree in biology from West Virginia University and his DDS from the West Virginia University School of Dentistry. He continued his dental studies to complete a specialty certification in pediatric dentistry from Case Western Reserve University School of Dentistry in Cleveland, Ohio, and then pursued a second specialty in orthodontics, earning a master’s degree in orthodontia from the University of Detroit School of Dentistry, where he was awarded an academic fellowship. He also has served as an instructor in pediatric dentistry at Case Western Reserve’s Dental School.
Dr. Manilla has been providing patients in Butler County and the greater Cincinnati area with quality orthodontic care since 1982. His practice includes interceptive treatment, surgical orthodontic treatment, orthopedic functional appliances and comprehensive orthodontic treatment. He is a Preferred Provider of Invisalign, a system of clear plastic trays that straightens teeth with near invisibility.
Dr. Manilla follows the recommendations of the American Association of Orthodontists as well as the American Dental Association, in advising that children be evaluated by an orthodontist by age 7. This allows the orthodontist to carefully examine each child and recommend any interceptive treatment that may be appropriate.
Dr. Manilla and his wife, Holly, have been married for over 30 years. They have two grown children who have pursued careers in New York and Chicago and with whom they spend time whenever they have a chance.
As a magician, Dr. Manilla performs each year at the West Chester Community Foundation Dough Raiser, which philanthropically supports the community’s quality of life.
He loves magic, whether it’s creating beautiful smiles through orthodontics or by doing fun tricks. He encourages patients who share his interest in magic to bring a trick or two to show him – and bring a smile to his face.
